Street to Seat Experience at Tottenham Stadium

To provide Tottenham Hotspur and other live event attendees with everything they’re looking for and expect, Daktronics delivered 93 LED displays at the team’s stadium in London for football, American football and other events.

More than 3,200 square metres of digital signage connect with fans from the moment they near the stadium to the moment they sit in their seat for the main event. The all-encompassing fan engagement happens between the exterior and the main seating bowl as LED displays are present at every aspect of the event experience. The technology helps people navigate the stadium with wayfinding displays, then connects with fans in the atrium entrances and raises awareness of special offers in the Tottenham Experience retail space. LED technology is connecting with and engaging viewers wherever they are in and around the stadium.

This “street to seat” experience begins with two large, 234-square-metre displays mounted to the stadium façade to welcome fans as the arrive. Those displays, together with 54 flag-style displays and 17 single totem-style displays, are used to connect with people, brand the event for the upcoming experience, and provide important wayfinding information.

Paxton House, the club’s ticket office, includes two long, narrow displays featuring 6-millimetre line spacing above ticket windows to inform visitors of availability and open sales windows for ease of purchasing their tickets.

Of course, the main seating bowl where the event takes place is equipped with LED screens to create the desired gameday experience. For Tottenham Hotspur, this means two 325-square-metre displays at the south end of the stadium and two 190-square-metre displays at the north end of the stadium.

Completing the immersive fan experience inside the seating bowl, three tiers of ribbon displays circle the seating fascia to surround fans in the action. These displays deliver fan engagement and sponsorship recognition throughout the event.

The East and West Atriums are other special areas of the stadium that feature LED technology to engage fans in those areas, much like the Tottenham Experience and Paxton House. Today, the technology in these locations is more about the overall experience where the previous live event industry focus was on the event itself. Overall entertainment destinations are the goal of today’s live event venues.

The stadium’s auditorium display, featuring high-resolution narrow pixel pitch technology, will afford the club the flexibility to use the space as a multi-purpose facility for events such as press conferences, presentations and private screenings.

“These market-leading displays support our commitment to delivering an unrivaled fan experience, helping to engage fans from the moment they arrive at our new home,” said Tottenham Hotspur Director of Operations Matthew Collecott.

It all adds up to an enthralling atmosphere for an entertaining and engaging live event experience. From the moment fans arrive at the stadium, during the entirety of the event and when they leave after the event concludes, they will be engaged and entertained. After an experience like that delivered by the integrated supersystem of LED displays, fans are sure to crave another live event at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. (Stadiaworld, 12.09.2019)
