An interesting project in a special hall was carried out by Expromo in Davos, Switzerland. The ice stadium in Davos is a household name for ice hockey fans all over the world, not least because of the “Spengler Cup”. The wooden construction is a unique architectural feature of the hall, which was opened in 1979. Now a new video cube has been installed centrally above the ice surface at the same location. It is octagonal, has an additional ring and offers around 125 m² of LED surface. Not only has the surface area been increased, but also the resolution. For outdoor venues, too, it is still true that US stadiums keep outdoing each other with new video wall records, although no new special architectural solutions with integrated 360° halos are in the works. In contrast to football stadiums in Europe, US basketball and football stadiums generally have huge free spaces available. European stadiums can be considered an exception, where 360° solutions were feasible, as recently in Madrid. Most recently, the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in the US added display area, and the New York Mets expanded their display areas at Citi Field. The efficient distribution of signals to the playback devices in the stadium has become indispensable, and as the orders from the service providers show, the large venues are also continuing to step up in terms of TV monitors and media surfaces throughout the building as well as on the façades.
