New Control System for South African Sports Broadcaster

Broadcast Solutions UK installs new control and orchestration system, hi human interface® for SuperSport South Africa with a view to future resilience and flexibility for intuitive control in OB vans.

South African sports broadcaster SuperSport, a subsidiary of Multichoice, has recently worked with UK-based system integrator Broadcast Solutions to replace the control system of an existing OB truck with a revolutionary new control tool, hi human interface®. This is the first of several planned installations of hi human interface® across the SuperSport OBfleet in the next 12 months. This will allow SuperSport to be more flexible in terms of workflows, future IP production technologies and equipment development.

SuperSport is one of the largest sports broadcasters in Africa, providing coverage for the majority of televised sporting events in South Africa and also providing multiple channels of sports content as part of MultiChoice Africa.

SuperSport OB 3 currently has a mix of old and new equipment,some of which dates back several years. The hi human interface® control system can seamlessly control and improve the workflow whilst also making the configuration of panels, UMD, tally and routing possible in-house and on location, removing the need for external engineering support.
