New Video Displays for Duke Aquatics, Soccer and Lacrosse

Daktronics has partnered with Duke University to manufacture and install two new LED displays on campus in Durham, North Carolina. The technology is being installed at Taishoff Auqatic Pavilion and Koskinen Stadium to support the aquatics, soccer and lacrosse programs.

Taishoff Aquatic Pavilion

The new aquatics LED video display will measure approximately 12.5 feet high by 21.5 feet wide and will feature 5.9-millimeter pixel spacing to deliver crisp, clear imagery to fans throughout the venue. It features protection from the humid aspects of aquatics venues to ensure smooth operation and a long product lifetime near pools and the resulting water in the air surrounding them.

“We’re excited to be working with our longtime partners at Duke University on another project to provide these new displays to these great venues,” said Corey Williams, Daktronics sales representative. “Once they’re up and running, they’ll provide an enhanced experience and new atmosphere for Blue Devil fans.”

Koskinen Stadium

The LED video display supporting soccer and lacrosse will measure roughly 19 feet high by 47 feet wide and will feature a 13HD pixel layout. This technology delivers excellent image clarity and contrast while incorporating environmental protection for the outdoor element so the display operates as expected for the university and all of its events.

Each video display is capable of variable content zoning to meet every fan’s expectations for content at games, meets and other events. Each can show one large image or be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, game information, statistics, results, animations and sponsorship messages.

Daktronics is also integrating its industry-leading Show Control System at each venue to provide a powerful, easy-to-use control solution. It provides a combination of display control software and world-class video processing with data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production. (Stadiaworld, 04.08.2023)
