Peak season for sports projects

The summer break marks the peak season for sports projects for the LED display manufacturer S[quadrat] GmbH. Recently, screens with a total of approximately 340 m² were installed in several venues.

As soon as the various sports leagues head for a well-deserved summer break, for the LED display provider S[quadrat] GmbH the peak season for its sports projects begins. In recent months S[quadrat] was commissioned for several arenas to install LED screens with an overall LED surface of about 340 m² during the summer break.

S[quadrat] GmbH has just put the new LED video cube and a 180 m long LED fascia into operation in the TUI Arena in Hannover. The video cube has a total display area of 112 m² and consists of S[quadrat]‘s Ocean modules with a pixel pitch of 4.8 mm. The LED fascia at the upper tier is made of S[quadrat]‘s custom sized fascia modules with 57 cm height. The pixel pitch of 6 mm creates a resolution of 96 pixels high.

S[quadrat] GmbH has also successfully completed a LED video cube for the Straubing Tigers, who play in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) as its first arena project in this summer break. In the new season the results, game information, flashbacks and advertisements will be presented on an octagonal video cube. In addition to the existing four advertising boards S[quadrat] implemented four 12 m² LED screens with a pixel pitch of 6 mm. A 16 m long LED ring underneath with also 6 mm pixel pitch enables extra advertisements.

The Patinoire Pôle Sud in Grenoble, France is the next arena that S[quadrat] is commissioned to equip with LED technology. The S[quadrat] team will install a LED video cube with four 9 m² LED surfaces. At the exterior façade of the multifunctional arena S[quadrat] will mount a 12 m² LED advertising screen. All LED walls will be manufactured with modules of the new slim series and will have a pixel pitch of 6.67 mm.

Besides the new installations, during the break the service team of S[quadrat] GmbH takes care of the annual maintenances in the numerous stadiums and arenas that the display specialist has equipped until now. All over Europe the team cleans LED systems, checks the ventilation systems, seals, cablings, constructions as well as the functioning of the entire system and updates the content management software. Regular maintenance ensures a long-living, stable LED display system and prevents from sudden downtime or failures. In this way, the operators are well-prepared for the upcoming season.
