Temporary covered ice rink at Gentse Winterfeesten

2018 was the fifth year in a row that Veldeman had a presence in the centre of Ghent during the Gentse Winterfeesten. The company provided a temporary covered ice rink. The winter event takes place for four weeks.

Gentse Winterfeesten is a winter event that takes place for four weeks in three squares in the city. There are all sorts of hospitality facilities, the typical wooden chalets where you can buy Christmas goodies or something tasty to eat. To compare is the Gentse Winterfeesten with a Christmas market.

„From an organisational point of view, the Gentse Winterfeesten presented some major challenges. Everything was measured down to the last inch and all areas were made full use of. For these winter festivities, proper preparation is a must“, says Veldeman on the Website.

Aluminum halls for every purpose
Every year Veldeman constructs several aluminum huts for the Gentse Winterfeesten. Each of these halls has a specific purpose. On the Sint-Baafsplein, the company built a large aluminum hall, where in the middle stands a tall statue in a fountain. The tent housed several small wooden huts and drinking stands. At the Emile Braunplein visitors could enjoy the temporary covered ice rink. Veldeman lay the floor, on which the ice rink was installed. As well as the temporary covered ice rink, we also provided the aluminium hall for the ice-skates rental facilities and another one that housed a refreshment tent. (Stadiaworld, 05.02.2019)
