PV on stadium roofs: The boom continues
Eintracht Frankfurt, West Ham United, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City. Not a Champions League group, but examples from the last three months that want to realise a photovoltaic system on the roof of a stadium or have already put one into operation.
In the search for energy-saving potential, there is still no way around large-scale PV installations. On 14 November, Eintracht Frankfurt announced the almost completed photovoltaic system on the roof of Deutsche Bank Park. A ‘further green milestone’ in the sustainability strategy of the Bundesliga football club, which aims to produce 50,000 kWh of solar power per year in future. In the past few months, several major projects have emerged that aim to emulate this example.
