Artificial turf manufacturer receives innovation award

The artificial turf manufacturer DOMO Sports Grass was awarded the Innovation Prize at this year´s GaLaBau 2022, which took place in Nuremberg from September 14 to 17, for its sustainable and fully reusable artificial turf DOMO Infinitum.

This year´s leading trade fair for gardening and landscaping was all about sustainability. Thus, the artificial turf manufacturer Domo Sports Grass also presented various sustainable solutions around artificial turf. The focus on sustainable processes and products has a long tradition at Domo: For two years now, the company has been operating the first fully comprehensive recycling factory for artificial turf systems of all kinds in Amsterdam. With the completely reusable artificial turf Domo® Infinitum presented at GaLaBau 2022, the company has now succeeded in taking the next step towards a circular economy.Domo® Infinitum is a new backing material for artificial turf systems from Domo Sports Grass that is not only fully recyclable, but also 100% reusable in the same material cycle. The backing material is made of PE and does not require the use of latex or polyurethane.

With Domo® Naturafill, also developed by Domo, the system also relies on an infill consisting of 100% organic fill materials. The special Domo® VarioSlide S Pro fiber technology also ensures that the infills used remain in the system and are not released into the environment. All components of this system have been developed with a special focus on environmental protection, without compromising the sports functional properties and durability of the artificial turf.

The interaction of the above products results in an innovative and sustainable artificial turf system that can be fully recycled in a closed loop. The artificial turf system consists of a single group of materials and can thus be processed in the recycling process at the end of its service life into a pure granulate that can then be used to produce new artificial turf fibers.

For this sustainable, recyclable and environmentally friendly artificial turf system, Domo Sports Grass has now been awarded the GaLaBau Innovation Medal 2022 at GaLaBau 2022 in Nuremberg. "This is a great recognition for our company and all our employees who give their best every day to provide the highest quality and most innovative products to their customers," said the artificial turf manufacturer.

The artificial turf manufacturer is also supported by soccer star Kevin De Bruyne, who has been an investor in the Sports and Leisure Group, which includes Domo Sports Grass, since March 2022.
