Recycled and sustainable stadium seating

To reduce the carbon footprint of sports venues, seat manufacturer Daplast relies on stadium seats made from 50 % post-consumer recycled plastics that are not only highly durable but also fully recyclable.

Sustainability in the construction of sports venues and the “green” management of these facilities provide a significant value to society in terms of quality, energy efficiency and reduction of their impact on the environment.

Although these seats may not look like it, they are made from 50% post-consumer recycled plastics. Technically, they have the same performance and strength as if they were made from 100% virgin plastic.

Our R&D in the manufacture of recycled stadium seats is focused on achieving the highest percentages of recovered material while ensuring the same technical performance, durability and aesthetics.

With these guidelines, the use of recycled material and maintaining the level of resistance/aesthetics of the seats, we study each project to offer our seats for sports facilities with recycled materials if requested.

Stadium seats have a very high durability. They are 100% recyclable once they have been removed for replacement at the end of their lifespan. After this circuit, the stadium seats’ plastic material is recovered and reused to manufacture new products.

Daplast actively collaborates with different entities in order to reuse the materials we work with. For example, we are part of the European Circular Network PRS for the recovery of pallets and the MORE programme of EuPC (European Plastics Converters).

In addition, we have reduced our carbon footprint by more than 60% between 2021 and 2015, and we have obtained the “Calculo-Reduzco” Seal issued by the Ministry of Ecological Transition of the Spanish Government. (STADIAWORLD, 27.10.2022)
