The former municipal soccer field Lettkaut in the city of Dreieich near Frankfurt has been converted into a modern multifunctional sports complex that will be free used by schools as well as all sports associations. The grandstand of SMC2 is the most distinctive feature.
This sports facility will give children and youth the opportunity to strengthen their community through sport and develop their talents. The stadium offers various sports grounds, including a natural grass football pitch, a synthetic grass, tartan Sport for handball, basketball, volleyball, mini football field DFB, a running track tartan, etc. A 265-seat grandstand was performed for sports events. It is one of the more visual elements of the equipment.
Beyond its practical aspect, it is the architectural signature of Dreieich complex. It is a vector image for the city that demonstrates through this widget and visual involvement in the development of sport. Indeed, it is in the platform that meets all generations and families around the values of sport.
The configuration and dimensions of SMC2 grandstands adapt as necessary (sports played, number of covered seats ...). The grandstand has a steel and wooden structure and is covered with textile canopy. It offers – according to the company – an excellent light. Indeed, thanks to the translucent membrane, the grandstand is bright and pleasant. In addition, textile canopies should provide real comfort: shade in summer, protection from the wind and rain in winter. Finally, the textile cover, flexible, has acoustic properties that severely limit the echo for a better ambiance.
It is interesting and important to highlight the entire ecological dimension of this building. The impact on the environment is kept as low as possible by using – according to the company – only sustainable materials: wood from sustainably managed forests and 100% recyclable textile membranes.
