Barca set date for return to Spotify Camp Nou

After more than two years away, FC Barcelona is set to return to Spotify Camp Nou. The stadium has undergone a major modernisation and while some construction will continue, the club’s iconic home will partially reopen in August.

A total of 960m EUR (1.1bn USD / 818m GBP) has been invested in the renovation of Spotify Camp Nou since May 2023. After its renovation, the stadium will hold 105,000 seats, around 6,000 more than the “old” Camp Nou. The stadium should be ready to move back into in the summer of 2025, allowing the club to leave the Olympic Stadium. A return was originally planned for the winter of 2024.

The official reopening is set for 10th August 2025, when the men’s first team will play its first match back at the renovated stadium. To mark this significant milestone, the club has launched the “Tornem a casa, vibrem” (“Come home, vibrate“) campaign, focusing on the emotional and symbolic meaning of returning to Camp Nou for both the club and the city of Barcelona.

FC Barcelona wants to apply to the city council, which owns the Olympic Stadium, for an extension regarding its use until 20th May. However, a return to the Spotify Camp Nou is still planned for this season.

At the heart of the campaign is a newly composed musical piece that combines traditional Catalan instruments with modern production, reflecting both “the club’s heritage and its future ambitions.” This new anthem is intended to resonate with fans of all ages and has been introduced to the city in creative ways, such as mobile speakers playing the composition throughout Barcelona and projections of club legends like Ronaldinho, Cruyff, Messi, and Deco on prominent landmarks. The campaign’s visual identity draws inspiration from sound vibrations, underlining the collective emotion and unity that this return represents.

FC Barcelona has announced the sale of VIP seats at the Spotify Camp Nou. The club has adapted the Personal Seat License (PSL) model to ensure compliance with the Financial Fair Play rules of the Spanish football league.

“The reopening of Spotify Camp Nou is presented not just as a sporting event, but as a moment to reconnect with the club’s roots, its neighborhood, and its community”, underlined the club. The campaign was officially launched by President Joan Laporta and coincides with the final episode of the club’s anniversary podcast, marking the beginning of a new era for FC Barcelona at its modernized home.
