30.07.2026 – Five-point plan discussed for London Stadium
The London Stadium operating company has presented the Greater London Authority with five areas intended to improve the venue’s financial position. These include staging more concerts, scheduling additional West Ham United away matches in September, adapting the stadium interior more closely to the club’s identity, returning women’s football to the venue, securing naming rights and expanding food and beverage operations. Losses of approximately 19 million pounds (22.2m EUR / 25.6m USD) are forecast for the 2025/26 financial year.
28.07.2026 – Renovated Bernabéu Drives Revenue
Real Madrid closed the 2025/26 season with operating revenue of approximately 1,221 billion euros (approx. 1,41bn USD / 1.05m GBP). This represents an increase of 3.1 %. EBITDA rose by 18% to 287.4 million euros, while profit after taxes stood at 26 million euros. According to the club, revenue from the modernized Estadio Santiago Bernabéu is now more than double the level prior to the renovation. In 2018/19, the stadium generated 175 million euros; last season, that figure rose to 363 million euros.
Revenues in European football rose to a record high in the 2024/25 season. This is shown in Deloitte’s Annual Review of Football Finance. Premier League remains in the lead, whilst Bundesliga is also achieving record revenues.
28.07.2026 – Lech Poznań extends stadium agreement until 2041
Lech Poznań and the City of Poznań have extended the operating and lease agreement for Enea Stadion until 2041. The previous contract had been due to expire in 2031. The club and its Stadion Poznań operating company will continue to manage the approximately 42,000-capacity venue. Annual rent will increase from 600,000 to 2.1 million polish Złoty (approx. 488,000 EUR / 563,000 USD / 418,000 GBP). Renovation work has been under way for around 18 months, with current capital expenditure approaching 20 million polish Złoty.

27.07.2026 – Panthers: Updated Stadium Renderings, Naming Rights Extension
Tepper Sports & Entertainment has released new renderings for the multi-year renovation of Carolina Panthers’ Bank of America Stadium. Meanwhile, the naming rights deal between the NFL franchise and the bank has been extended.
24.07.2026 – Hill Dickinson Stadium to host drive-in cinema
Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool will stage its first drive-in cinema from 29th to 31st August. Five films will be shown on a large LED screen over the three-day programme, with sound transmitted through visitors’ car radios. A separate lawn area will be available for guests attending without a vehicle.
23.07.2026 – Afterpay Arena opens following venue transformation
The Sydney venue has officially opened as Afterpay Arena following an extensive interior and technology upgrade. The launch forms part of a five-year naming rights agreement running until 2031. Improvements include a redesigned foyer, two hospitality areas, venue-wide wayfinding and upgraded event technology. The payment infrastructure comprises 150 fixed registers and 65 handheld devices. Afterpay and Square systems will be used for ticketing, food, beverage and merchandise transactions.
13.07.2026 – IG Arena Celebrates Successful First Year
IG Arena in Nagoya, Japan, has marked its first anniversary after hosting 116 events and welcoming one million visitors since opening in 2025. The 17,000-capacity venue has quickly established itself as a major live entertainment destination, hosting international artists, sports events and the Nagoya Grand Sumo Tournament, with plans to further increase events and attendance in its second year.
09.07.2026 – Morningstar DBRS Confirms FC Barcelona BBB Rating
Morningstar DBRS has confirmed FC Barcelona’s BBB credit rating, highlighting the strength of the club’s brand, revenue generation and commercial position. The agency views the increased debt from the final phase of the Espai Barça project as temporary and expects the club’s financial profile to improve from 2028 once the renovated Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain is fully operational.In 2024, FC Barcelona invested over 100 million euros in their fixed assets. 09.07.2026 – Swansea City Proposes Stadium Purchase
Championship club Swansea City has submitted an offer to acquire the Swansea.com Stadium from Swansea Council. The proposed purchase would give the club full ownership of the 20-year-old venue, creating new opportunities for investment, increased revenue and long-term development in Swansea, Wales, subject to final approval by the council.
07.07.2026 – Gotham FC to Move to Etihad Park
NWSL club Gotham FC will play its home matches at New York City FC’s new Etihad Park in Queens, New York City, from the 2028 season. The move gives the reigning NWSL champions a permanent home in the city’s first soccer-specific stadium, which is set to open in 2027 and will also host MLS matches, international soccer and major entertainment events.
New York City FC installed the final steel beam at Etihad Park in April, finishing construction of the stadium’s structural frame.
07.07.2026 – Harry Styles Sets Wembley Residency Record
Singer and songwriter Harry Styles has set a new record after completing a 12-show residency at Wembley Stadium connected by EE, the longest single-run residency by a music artist at the venue. The concerts, part of his Together, Together tour, surpassed Coldplay’s previous record of ten Wembley shows set in 2025 after high demand led to the residency being expanded from six to twelve dates.Following a successful trial, additional licensed standing areas have been installed at Wembley Stadium connected by EE ahead of the 2026 season. 06.07.2026 – Baskonia Alavés Proposes Buesa Arena Acquisition
The Baskonia Alavés Group has presented the next phase of its Ondare Project, including a proposal to acquire the Fernando Buesa Arena complex in Vitoria-Gasteiz. The move aims to modernise the venue, expand its year-round use and transform it into an international sports, entertainment and innovation hub while strengthening the long-term competitiveness of Baskonia and Deportivo Alavés.
03.07.2026 – Atlético Madrid Partners with Live Nation España
Atlético de Madrid has signed a long-term strategic partnership with Live Nation España to expand the concert and live events programme at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. The initial 10-year agreement aims to strengthen the stadium’s position as one of Europe’s leading concert venues and includes direct ticket sales for all events via the stadium’s official website.

Arsenal has appointed Legends Global as the new Official Caterer of Emirates Stadium under a multi-year agreement starting with the 2026–27 season. Legends will manage all food, beverage and hospitality operations, introducing enhanced menus, upgraded premium hospitality and expanded non-matchday event services, with a focus on local suppliers, innovation and staff development.

26.06.2026 – Leyton Orient Installs Safe Standing
EFL League One club Leyton Orient has installed safe standing in Block A of the Tommy Johnston South Stand at BetWright Stadium ahead of the 2026–27 season. The new rail seating responds to long-standing fan requests and is intended to improve the matchday atmosphere without affecting the stadium’s capacity or existing season ticket holders.
25.06.2026 – Marseille Signs Vélodrome Naming Rights Deal
Olympique de Marseille has signed a seven-year naming rights agreement with Caisse d'Epargne CEPAC, with the Stade Vélodrome becoming the CEPAC Vélodrome from 2 July 2026. The deal strengthens a partnership that began in 1986 and reflects the club’s strategy of combining international growth with strong local roots, while supporting the stadium’s role as a venue for sport, culture and community events.24.06.2026 – Arkansas Athletics Secures Stadium Naming Rights Deal
Arkansas Athletics has signed a long-term partnership with CommunityAmerica Credit Union that includes the naming rights to Razorback Stadium from the 2027 football season. The agreement also names CommunityAmerica the Official Credit Union of Arkansas Athletics and includes sponsorship, NIL opportunities for student-athletes, financial education initiatives and the rebranding of the stadium’s SEC Club as the CommunityAmerica Club.
23.06.2026 – OVG Joins Stoke City at Bet365 Stadium
Oak View Group has agreed a new long-term partnership with Stoke City FC to transform hospitality, food and beverage operations at the 30,000-capacity bet365 Stadium. OVG Hospitality will assume responsibility for all hospitality operations and work with the club on revitalised catering for matchdays and stadium events, including locally inspired menus, premium hospitality concepts and streamlined concessions. Stoke City COO Simon King said OVG provides “the perfect balance” between global scale and local understanding, adding that the club is planning significant investment in catering areas over the coming years. Katie Harel, Managing Director of OVG Hospitality, said the company is committed to delivering “consistently world class experiences at the bet365 Stadium, on matchdays and beyond.” The agreement expands OVG’s UK and European hospitality footprint.
19.06.2026 – Eden Park Gains ISO 45001 Certification
Eden Park has become the first stadium in Australasia to achieve ISO 45001:2018 certification, the internationally recognised standard for occupational health and safety management systems. Awarded following an independent audit of the venue’s systems, policies and workplace practices, the certification recognises Eden Park’s approach to managing health and safety across its multi-purpose event operations. CEO Nick Sautner said the milestone reflects the stadium’s operational priorities: “Regardless of the event, the safety and wellbeing of our people, partners and visitors will always remain our highest priority.” He added that event days require “leadership, discipline, accountability” and a culture in which safety is embedded daily. Manchester United has appointed Elevate as its first Official Hospitality Partner, expanding the club’s premium matchday offer at Old Trafford from the 2026-27 season. The partnership will introduce more flexible hospitality options, ranging from fine dining and pub-style concepts to in-venue experiences and pre-match restaurant packages in Manchester city centre. Elevate will also support selected fan experiences, including behind-the-scenes stadium tours, on-pitch photos with first-team players and exclusive Q&A sessions with club legends. Marc Armstrong, Chief Business Officer at Manchester United, said Elevate will help broaden the club’s hospitality offering while providing “greater choice for fans”. Flavil Hampsten, President of Venue Sales at Elevate, said the partnership aims to take the club’s hospitality “to the next level” while respecting Old Trafford’s matchday atmosphere.
15.06.2026 – Live Nation Buys Movistar Stake
Live Nation Entertainment has acquired a majority stake in Movistar Arena Buenos Aires, expanding its venue portfolio in Latin America. Opened in 2019, the 15,000-capacity arena hosts more than 250 events annually and welcomes over 2.5 million fans each year. Live Nation said it will support the existing management team, while the venue will remain an open building available to all qualified promoters. La Nación, the former majority owner, will remain a shareholder. Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment, described Movistar Arena Buenos Aires as “one of the premier venues in Latin America”. Gabriel Dantur, CEO of Movistar Arena Buenos Aires, said the investment reflects “the strength of what the team has built” and will support continued improvements for artists, fans, partners and promoters.
11.06.2026 – Feyenoord To Take Ownership Of De Kuip
Feyenoord is set to become the owner of De Kuip after shareholders of Stadion Feijenoord approved the proposed unification of club and stadium at an extraordinary meeting. The transaction remains subject to approval by the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets. Feyenoord said the decision marks a first step towards improving and redeveloping its home venue, with the club committing an additional €41m over the coming years for overdue maintenance, atmosphere, comfort and commercial opportunities. Initial works through 2028 will focus on maintenance and short-term improvements, while a longer programme targets a renewed De Kuip by 2040. Lilian de Leeuw, Managing Director of Stadion Feijenoord, said: “We are here to stay,” adding that the move enables “the necessary next steps towards a renewed De Kuip”.

10.06.2026 – Boavista Auction Closes Below Floor
The auction of Estádio do Bessa and its associated sports complex has concluded with a final bid of 25.7 million euros (approx. 29.6m USD/ 22.2m GBP), below the 32.9 million euros (approx. 38m USD / 28.4m GBP) minimum price set for the combined assets. The process, operated by Leilosoc Worldwide, formed part of insolvency proceedings linked to Boavista, whose debts have been reported at more than 150 million euros (approx. 173m USD / 129.5m GBP). Three lots were established: the stadium and sports complex together, and each facility separately. The sports complex attracted a final bid of 6.5 million euros (approx. 7.5m USD / 5.6m GBP), above its baseline, while the stadium alone received no offers. According to the auction terms, priority will be given to bids combining the two assets, with the insolvency administration and creditors to decide whether to approve a sale. Estádio do Bessa, redeveloped for UEFA EURO 2004, has around 28,000 seats but is currently prohibited from use by ANEPC.
08.06.2026 – HSV Names Levy Catering Partner
Hamburger SV has appointed Levy as its new catering and hospitality partner at Volksparkstadion from the 2027-28 season. The agreement runs for ten years and follows a multi-stage selection process in which Levy secured the exclusive catering contract. HSV said the partnership will focus on shorter waiting times, modern service concepts and a broader food and beverage offer in public areas, while further developing hospitality as part of the stadium experience. Planned measures include digital services, self-service formats and new ordering and payment solutions. HSV board member Eric Huwer said Levy best fulfilled the club’s ambitions for “modern, high-quality and fan-oriented stadium catering”. Jens König, CEO Levy Continental Europe, said the aim is to create an experience reflecting “the identity of the club, its fans and its city”.

22.05.2026 – City Names Pep Guardiola Stand
Manchester City will rename the newly developed and expanded North Stand at the Etihad Stadium as The Pep Guardiola Stand. The stand is set to open fully for the first time for Guardiola’s final match as manager, against Aston Villa, and will add more than 7,000 seats, increasing stadium capacity to over 61,000. A statue of Guardiola will also be commissioned on the approach to the stand. Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said the stand and statue ensure Guardiola’s legacy remains “woven into the fabric of this football club, the city of Manchester and English football”. The stand forms part of the Etihad Campus development, alongside Medlock Square, a 401-room hotel, museum, retail, offices and new food and beverage spaces.
27.05.2026 – Storm Returns to AO Arena
Manchester Storm will return to AO Arena for the 2026-27 season, marking a move back to the venue where the club was founded in 1995. The decision follows the team’s first play-off final appearance in 24 years and comes amid wider growth for ice hockey in the UK. AO Arena previously hosted the club during its early era, including a 1996-97 fixture against Sheffield Steelers that drew 17,245 spectators, a British attendance record that still stands. Gemma Vaughan, General Manager of AO Arena, said the move strengthens the venue’s position as “a world-class sports and entertainment hub” and the UK’s largest indoor sporting arena. Emma and Ryan Finnerty, representing the ownership group, called the return “a major milestone” and “the start of an exciting new era”.
16.05.2026 – Co-Op Live Wins Sustainability Awards
Co-op Live has received two international sustainability honours, winning the Billie Eilish Award for Sustainability (Venue) at the Pollstar Live! Awards and being named among the inaugural recipients of the MSA Bobby Weir Sustainability Award. The 23,500-capacity Manchester arena was recognised for operational and artist-led initiatives, including a fully plant-based food offer across Billie Eilish’s four sold-out shows in July 2025. According to the venue, the shows delivered a 47% emissions reduction versus a typical arena event, saved 3.5m litres of water and reduced emissions on selected fan food items by up to 65%. Co-op Live operates on 100% renewable energy, diverts operational waste from landfill and sources 88% of food within 20km. Sara Tomkins, Sustainability & CSR Director, said the awards recognise what can be achieved when sustainability is “embedded across the team from day one.”Co-op Live opened in May 2024. After around a year in operation, the arena in Manchester looked in 2025 back on impressive figures – both in terms of ticket sales and events.
13.05.2026 – Fire Names New Stadium McDonald’s Park
McDonald’s and Chicago Fire FC have announced a long-term stadium naming-rights partnership for the club’s new privately funded home at The 78 in Chicago. The USD 750m venue will open in 2028 as McDonald’s Park, marking McDonald’s first naming-rights agreement for a major professional sports stadium in the U.S. The stadium will seat more than 22,000 for soccer and up to 31,000 for concerts and special events, with year-round programming, public plazas, a flagship McDonald’s restaurant and immersive fan experiences. The partnership also expands the Chicago Fire Foundation’s P.L.A.Y.S. programme, with a long-term goal of reaching more than 280 under-resourced Chicago Public Schools. McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said the partners are “creating more than a stadium”, while Fire owner Joe Mansueto called McDonald’s “the perfect partner”.
12.05.2026 – Arsenal Keeps WSL At Emirates
Arsenal have confirmed that all Barclays Women’s Super League home matches will return to Emirates Stadium for the 2026-27 season. The decision means the women’s team will play all 13 WSL fixtures at the north London venue for a second consecutive campaign, following the league’s expansion. Arsenal said the 2025-26 season had been used to work with supporters to make the Emirates “the unmistakable, undisputed home of Arsenal Women”. The move continues the club’s strategy of embedding women’s football within its main stadium operations while retaining Meadow Park for other selected fixtures. The announcement also forms part of a broader package of updates around pricing, stadium use and supporter access for the women’s team ahead of the new season.
01.05.2026 – Miami GP Expands Paddock Club
South Florida Motorsports, promoter of the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, has announced a 115,000 sq ft expansion of its Paddock Club building ahead of the 2027 race. The new extension will overlook Turn 1 and run from the start-finish straight towards the opening corner, also offering views of Turns 2 and 3. Including rooftop space, the expanded facility will increase Paddock Club capacity to around 9,200 guests and total hospitality space to 305,000 sq ft. Sections of the three-storey structure will introduce tiered seating, with improved ingress and egress for race-weekend guests.
The FORMULA 1® CRYPTO.COM MIAMI GRAND PRIX revealed an all-new hospitality centerpiece for the 2026 event. The new offer is inspired by MSC Cruises’ luxury “ship-within-a-ship” onboard experience, aptly named the MSC Yacht Club.
01.05.2026 – Aston Villa Signs SI Tickets Deal
Aston Villa has agreed a 12-year partnership with Sports Illustrated Tickets, naming the company as the club’s Official Fan Experience Partner from the 2026-27 season. The agreement includes naming rights to the Sports Illustrated Warehouse, a new 3,500-capacity multi-use venue at Villa Park designed for pre- and post-match activity, premium hospitality, concerts and year-round events. The partnership also covers Club SI and the Sports Illustrated Tickets Plaza, extending the club’s matchday and non-matchday hospitality offer. Sports Illustrated Tickets CEO David Lane said the agreement brings together “premium hospitality and Sports Illustrated’s iconic storytelling”. Aston Villa President of Business Operations Francesco Calvo said the partnership supports the club’s ambition to make Villa Park a year-round venue.Aston Villa FC has announced an accelerated timeline for the major North Stand redevelopment at Villa Park. The stand will be closed for the entire 2026/27 season. The renovation was originally expected to take two seasons.

30.04.2026 – Edgbaston Extends Levy JV
Edgbaston Stadium and Levy UK + Ireland have announced a long-term extension of their joint venture, described as the longest contract ever signed by Levy UK + Ireland. The agreement comes as the Edgbaston Masterplan moves into its third phase, including demolition of older stands and delivery of a new stand, Radisson RED hotel and expanded concourses. The partners said the JV will remain central to matchday hospitality, food culture and community-led growth, including the Xcelerate with Edgbaston training hub, which has supported more than 5,500 people. Levy CEO Jon Davies said the extension reflects “a close and trusted working partnership”, while Edgbaston Strategy Director Craig Flindall said the next stage of the masterplan will deliver enhanced spectator facilities in time for the Men’s Ashes in summer 2027.
29.04.2026 – Sphere Appoints Rob Mchenry
Sphere Entertainment Co. has appointed Rob McHenry as Head of Ventures, Sphere, effective 4 May. Reporting to Executive Chairman and CEO Jim Dolan, McHenry will lead frontier technology initiatives, identify and develop disruptive technologies, assess strategic investments and oversee rapid prototyping for new immersive-experience concepts. He will work across engineering, product, content and business teams, as well as Sphere Studios. Dolan said innovation is “at the core of everything we do at Sphere”, adding that McHenry’s experience turning advanced technologies into real-world capabilities will support the company as it continues to “push the boundaries of immersive experiences”. McHenry joins after senior roles at DARPA, where he led strategy, technical diligence and operations for the USD 4bn agency, and prior leadership positions at PARC and Bright Silicon Technologies.
22.04.2026 – Boavista Stadium Placed Up For Auction
Estádio do Bessa has been placed up for auction amid Boavista’s insolvency proceedings and wider financial crisis. The Porto club, Primeira Liga champion in 2001-02 and a top-flight participant as recently as 2024-25, has reported debts exceeding 150 million euros (aspprox. 175.6m USD / 130m GBP). Liquidation of club assets was approved in September, with the stadium listed on LEILOSOC at a starting price of 31.1 million euors (approx. 36.4m USD / 27m GBP) and the associated sports complex at 6.7 million euros (approx. 7.8m USD / 5.8m GBP). Opened in 1910 and fully redeveloped ahead of UEFA EURO 2004, the venue has capacity of around 28,000 but is currently prohibited from use by ANEPC. Boavista SAD said shareholders remain “fully committed to safeguarding Boavista and all its assets” and that the club remains focused on “building a sustainable future”.
16.04.2026 – Everton Adds Golf Event to Stadium
Everton FC will stage an Upper Deck Golf experience inside Hill Dickinson Stadium from 16 to 19 July, marking the format’s first event outside North America. The four-day activation will place tee boxes high in the stands and custom greens on the pitch, with participants playing approach shots from multiple vantage points around the waterfront venue. Screens across the stadium will show live coverage of the 154th Open Championship at nearby Royal Birkdale. Tee times will run from 7am to 9pm, with two-player slots, priority access for members and Premium and VIP packages.
16.04.2026 – EAA Rebrands as Arenas Europe
The European Arenas Association has rebranded as Arenas Europe, presenting the new identity as a clearer platform for Europe’s arena sector. The organisation said it has spent 35 years bringing together venue leaders, shaping standards, strengthening collaboration and supporting live-event growth across the continent. Robert Fitzpatrick, President of Arenas Europe, said the name “reflects the role our sector now plays: connected, outward-facing and central to the cultural and economic life of our cities”.
10.04.2026 – Celta Advances Balaídos Concession
RC Celta and Vigo City Council have formalised the start of procedures for a new long-term concession for the Balaídos municipal stadium. The agreement, announced at the Sky Marcador Club VIP area, provides an initial 50-year concession extendable to 75 years and grants the club full use of the facilities to develop its strategic project. President Marián Mouriño said the agreement will allow “new generations” to continue enjoying Celta at Balaídos, describing it as a foundation for “the next hundred years of Celta”. Mayor Abel Caballero said the process would be ratified automatically if there are no objections within the following month. The existing concession, signed under former president Carlos Mouriño, was due to expire in 2034.
08.04.2026 – Venezia Secures Stadium Operation
Venezia FC has secured the concession to manage the new stadium being developed within the Bosco dello Sport complex in Tessera, following the Municipality of Venice’s assessment that the club’s proposal was “suitable and compliant” with tender criteria. Formal execution of the concession agreement remains the final procedural step. The club’s earlier plan outlined a 40-year contract with a total investment of 121 million euros (approx. 142.37m USD / 104.2m GBP), including 33m euros for future improvements. 07.04.2026 – FFF Signs Stade De France Agreement
The French Football Federation has signed a new 30-year agreement with GL Events, securing its long-term use of the Stade de France. The contract aligns with GL Events’ state concession to operate the venue and is structured in two phases around planned renovation and modernisation work, expected to be completed by the end of 2030. Until then, the FFF may organise national team matches and Coupe de France finals at the stadium, subject to availability and works. From January 2031 to 2055, the federation has committed to staging the national team’s top six matches over each two-season cycle at the venue, as well as the annual Coupe de France final. FFF president Philippe Diallo said the agreement “marks the beginning of a new era for the federation”.
03.04.2026 – Beşiktaş Signs Tüpraş Stadium Deal
Beşiktaş Futbol Yatırımları Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. has signed a stadium naming-rights and advertising sponsorship agreement with Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.Ş., Tüpraş, covering three seasons from 2026-27. The contract applies to the 2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons and has a total value of TRY 1.18bn (approx. 23m EUR / 26.5m USD / 20m GBP) plus VAT, with the full amount to be paid upfront. The agreement also includes performance-related bonuses: if the defined success criteria are met, Beşiktaş will receive an additional TRY 51.2m plus VAT for the 2026-27 season.

The accounts cover the first reporting period since The Friedkin Group’s takeover and Everton’s final men’s season at Goodison Park before the move to Hill Dickinson Stadium. The club recognised a 49.2m Great Britain pounds (approx. 57m EUR / 65m USA) profit after selling its shareholdings in Everton Women and Goodison Park Stadium Limited to Roundhouse Capital Holdings Limited, the group’s ultimate parent.
Everton also reported total project spend of 813 million Gread Britain pounds (approx 935m EUR / 1.072bn USD) on Hill Dickinson Stadium. CEO Angus Kinnear said the new venue “represents a transformational opportunity” and will play a key role in driving future revenues.

Newly elected Paris mayor Emmanuel Grégoire has set a summer deadline to resolve the long-running talks over Paris Saint-Germain’s future at Parc des Princes. According to Reuters, Grégoire plans to convene a special Paris council session in mid-April to relaunch negotiations with the club’s Qatari owners, with the objective of reaching clarity “by the end of the summer”. PSG, whose lease on the stadium runs until 2044, has made ownership a condition for major redevelopment, arguing that expansion is critical to the club’s growth.
Grégoire signalled two potential routes: extending the long-term lease or negotiating a sale with safeguards, including heritage protections and a possible city buyback option. “I need a mandate,” he said, adding: “We want to create the conditions for it to stay.”

Monumental Sports & Entertainment has announced The Blueprint Studios, a new group hospitality concept at Capital One Arena, as part of the venue’s ongoing transformation. Scheduled to debut ahead of the 2027-28 season, the second-level spaces are designed for groups of eight or more and offer a more flexible premium option than a traditional private suite. Amenities will include all-inclusive food and beverage, in-seat service, a dedicated concierge team, access to a private social club and one arena parking pass per eight guests.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Continental Resources have announced a 15-year naming rights partnership for Continental Coliseum, the NBA franchise’s new arena under development in downtown Oklahoma City. The venue is targeted to open in late summer 2028, with the Thunder continuing to play at Paycom Center until the new building is operational. Site demolition is nearing completion, with construction mobilisation set to follow.

The ownership group of the Seattle Kraken, led by Samantha Holloway, has launched One Roof Sports and Entertainment as a parent brand overseeing a growing portfolio of sports, venue and community assets. The group will cover the Seattle Kraken, Climate Pledge Arena, One Roof Foundation, Kraken Community Iceplex, the New Memorial Stadium project at Seattle Center and interests in the Coachella Valley Firebirds and Acrisure Arena. One Roof has also agreed a pre-planned ownership transition with Oak View Group that will make it majority owner of Climate Pledge Arena, while OVG retains a significant minority stake and continues to book and operate the venue. Holloway said the brand “brings together everything we’ve done”, adding that the arena ownership increase “sets us up for future opportunities”. GL events has added CARAC and its subsidiary Atream as shareholders in the Stade de France operating company, with a combined 30 % equity stake. Atream will contribute strategic and tourism-focused expertise to support the venue’s positioning as a multi-use destination for sports, cultural and corporate events. The company will also be represented on the supervisory board. The transaction follows Atream’s earlier investments in Polygone and GL events and reinforces its long-term commitment to the group.
In August 2025 GL events has been selected as the new concessionaire of the Stade de France. The company will assume responsibility for the operation and modernisation of the national stadium for a 30-year period.

The City of Kraków has selected Synerise SA as title sponsor of the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium under a three-year agreement. Real Madrid's stadium is now called Bernabeu. The “addition” Santiago has been removed as part of a rebranding exercise. Aberdeen City Council has granted a license for the sale of alcohol at Pittotrie Stadium for Aberdeen FC's upcoming William Hill Premiership home match against Kilmarnock on December 14. The aim of this initiative is to gain insights into how a carefully managed approach to alcohol sales can contribute to a positive and safe matchday experience for fans.
Alcohol may only be consumed in clearly designated areas and not within sight of the pitch. Sales will take place exclusively in clearly defined, monitored areas of the stadium.
12.11.2025 – Intuit announces founding partnership with LA28
Global financial technology platform Intuit Inc. announced its sponsorship of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles (LA28) as a Founding Partner in the financial management software category.
Therefore it will be one of the first companies to retain the naming rights for Olympic Games venues with Intuit Dome as part of its multi-year, domestic partnership with Team USA and the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Intuit Dome will host five-on-five men's and women's basketball competitions during the LA28 Olympic Games. This will be the first time in Olympic history that Games venues have the opportunity to retain their commercial venue names.

Levy, the hospitality partner to many of the UK’s most iconic sports and entertainment venues, is pioneering a landmark sustainable shift in stadium catering by replacing beef with British wild venison. The move will take place at over 20 venues across the UK and Ireland, including Premier League football clubs, Brentford FC and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, plus the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, with the potential to reduce emissions by 85 % and save up to 1,182 tonnes of CO₂e annually.

18.10.2025 – Twickenham’s bid to host more concerts rejected
Richmond Council has rejected an application by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) to lift the current cap of three concerts per year at Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium. The council only approved an extension of operating hours for smaller indoor and outdoor events.
The decision follows resident complaints about crowd disturbances during major concerts and past safety concerns, including overcrowding incidents in 2018. While the RFU had also sought permission under a separate planning proposal to hold up to 15 large-scale non-sporting events annually with an increased capacity of 75,000, the committee ruled that the cap on major events will remain for the foreseeable future.

Huddersfield Town has completed a landmark agreement with Kirklees Council and Huddersfield Giants to take full ownership and operational control of Accu Stadium and its surrounding 53-acre site.
The deal sees the club become the sole shareholder of Kirklees Stadium Development Limited, ending the long-standing tri-party structure in place since the venue’s opening in 1994. Under a new 300-year leasehold, Huddersfield Town will manage all operations and pursue redevelopment plans for the site, while the Huddersfield Giants will remain as tenants for the 2026 season.
24.09.2025 – Wembley pilots new sustainability measures during Coldplay concerts
Wembley Stadium trialled several eco-initiatives during Coldplay’s record-breaking ten-show run. Working with Delaware North, the venue adopted an all-aluminium approach for serving drinks, replacing around 400,000 plastic cups with reusable aluminium ones.
The pilot also included Draft Pro can-opening machines and biodegradable, seaweed-based food packaging by Notpla. Overall waste fell by nearly one-third compared to previous concert residencies.

The Haslam Sports Group has entered a long-term partnership with Legends Global to support sponsorship, premium seating, and suite sales for the new Huntington Bank Field enclosed stadium in Brook Pa838rk, Ohio, scheduled to open in 2029. The state-of-the-art, HKS-designed venue will host Browns home games as well as major sporting and entertainment events year-round.

Co-op Live in Manchester has officially opened Canalside, a new multi-use café and bar located on the south terrace next to the arena. The 4,000 sq ft venue serves as a café by day and transforms into a bar for event ticket holders in the evening, offering space for up to 500 guests.
Senior Vice President and General Manager Guy Dunstan said: “The opening of Canalside marks the next chapter in the growth of the Etihad Campus. We are proud to create a space that blends community, creativity and connection – and adds something new to Manchester’s vibrant social scene.”
Built from upcycled shipping containers, the project was developed with a strong focus on sustainability, including recycled materials, waste reduction and locally sourced construction.

08.09.2025 – Olympique Lyonnais and Groupama extend naming partnership until 2030
Olympique Lyonnais and Groupama Rhône Alpes Auvergne have extended their naming rights agreement for the club’s stadium by five years, running until 2030. The new deal was signed at Groupama Stadium during the OL vs. OM match on 31 August in the presence of club president Michele Kang and Groupama representatives.

18.08.2025 – San Jose approves $357m plan for SAP Center renovation and eventual replacement
The City of San Jose has agreed to invest $325m (approx.. 256m GBP / 298m EUR) in upgrades to the SAP Center, home of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks, under a new lease deal keeping the team in place until 2051. An additional $32m will be allocated for future capital repairs. The Sharks will contribute $100m to the renovation and match the $32m reserve, while annual capital payments from the team will initially drop from $4m to $500k. Notably, the agreement includes plans to identify a new arena location by 2027, making the SAP Center’s long-term future finite despite the investment.

Since the beginning of August, the French national stadium officially has a new operating company. Despite previous objections, GL Events prevailed over the Vinci/Bouygues consortium and won the 30-year contract.
14.08.2025 – PSV tackles grid congestion with stadium battery system
PSV has installed a stationary battery system from DENS beside the Philips Stadion to manage peak energy demand on matchdays. The Gridhub battery provides 300 kVA of power and 580 kWh of storage, supporting stadium lighting, hospitality and TV production without requiring diesel generators or grid upgrades. The move comes amid rising grid congestion in Eindhoven, particularly around Strijp-S. The installation will also support future initiatives such as green energy buffering and EV charging. The system will debut during the Otten Innovation Cup (15–17 August), marking a key step in PSV’s wider sustainability and innovation strategy.

The Baltimore Ravens have unveiled Relentless Events, a new full-service private events division operating at M&T Bank Stadium. The initiative offers exclusive access to over a dozen bespoke venues, including premium lounges, locker rooms, and rooftop terraces. Targeting everything from corporate functions to weddings, the venture leverages the Ravens brand to deliver high-end non-gameday experiences. Notable spaces include “The Raven” and “The Blackwing”, plus the field itself, which can host up to 4,000 guests.
10.08.2025 – Rothesay acquires 999-year lease to London’s The O2
Pensions insurer Rothesay has purchased the 999-year lease to The O2 arena from Trinity College Cambridge for approximately 90 million Pound (approx. 104m EUR / 121m USD). The deal, completed after a competitive auction, marks a significant addition to Rothesay’s portfolio of high-quality, long-term assets. Trinity College had acquired the lease in 2009 for £24m, and the venue—formerly the Millennium Dome—has since become a globally recognised entertainment destination. The O2 continues to be operated by AEG. Rothesay described the O2 as providing “predictable and dependable returns” in line with its investment strategy.
01.08.2025 – Estadio BBVA unveils new hybrid pitch and tech ahead of 2026 World Cup
Estadio BBVA in Monterrey has completed a major two-month renovation to deliver what organisers call the “best pitch in Mexico” ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The new hybrid turf — 97% natural grass, 3% synthetic fibre — was installed along with new drainage, ventilation systems, and revamped warm-up areas. Already in use for the Apertura 2025 season, the pitch meets all FIFA standards. SD Huesca has agreed to sell Estadio El Alcoraz to the Government of Aragón for 24.4m euros (approx. 21.16m GBP / 27.83m USD). The move aims to alleviate the club’s financial difficulties and promote equal treatment across Aragonese football. Manchester City has introduced “Beyond The Blue Moon”, a first-of-its-kind virtual reality experience as part of its stadium tour. Suitable for visitors aged 7+, the £12 (£15 walk-up) experience builds on City’s reputation for tour innovation. 22.07.2025 – RCD Mallorca earns Spain’s first ‘Zero Waste’ stadium certification
RCD Mallorca’s Estadi Mallorca Son Moix has been certified as Spain’s first ‘Zero Waste’ football stadium by AENOR, becoming only the third such venue in Europe. Achieved in partnership with PreZero, the certification confirms that over 95% of stadium waste is recycled or transformed into sustainable energy. A total of 16 waste fractions were separated during the past season, totalling 93.8 tonnes. Club CEO Alfonso Díaz called it “a pioneering commitment to sustainability,” with a symbolic debut scheduled for the 16 August LaLiga match against FC Barcelona.

Manchester’s Co-op Live has been recognised by A Greener Future with a ‘Highly Commended’ A Greener Arena 2025 certification, acknowledging its environmental leadership. The UK’s largest indoor arena impressed assessors with its all-renewable power supply, rainwater reuse systems, inclusive design, and community engagement. The venue has hosted over one million visitors and more than 100 shows in its first year, proving that sustainable infrastructure and top-tier entertainment can go hand in hand. Co-op Live is also committed to donating 1 million British pound annually to social initiatives via the Co-op Foundation.
09.07.2025 – Alcohol ban in Scottish football eased in trial across seven clubs
Seven Scottish clubs – including Arbroath, Ayr United, Queen of the South and Stirling Albion – will participate in a pilot lifting the long-standing ban on alcohol in stadiums. Fans at selected League Cup matches will be allowed to consume beer in designated areas away from the pitch view, under strict licensing conditions. The SPFL hopes the initiative will enhance the matchday experience and bring football in line with other sports. Des Moines’ main indoor arena has officially been renamed Casey’s Center, following a 18.3 million US dollar (approx. 17m EUR / 14.3m GBP) naming rights deal with the convenience store chain. Oak View Group (OVG) will become the exclusive food and beverage provider at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas from 1 April, replacing Levy. The agreement with the Las Vegas Raiders includes enhanced premium offerings, locally sourced ingredients, and eco-conscious packaging. OVG plans to expand its footprint in the city through a proposed 3 billion US dollar (approx. 2.86bn EUR / 2.38bn GBP) entertainment district that would include an NBA arena, but so far no progress has been made. The shift comes after Raiders owner Mark Davis sold a minority stake to Egon Durban of Silver Lake, a major OVG investor. Both parties have committed to elevating the game-day experience and community engagement at Allegiant.

11.02.2025 – Governor’s Browns stadium funding proposal
Gov. Mike DeWine announced his stadium funding plan last week before the details were spelled out in his full budget bill, which was just released. Gov. Mike DeWine’s office has released details of the governor’s proposal to fund the Cleveland Browns’ planned dome in Brook Park and other proposed stadium projects around the state.
The 4,063-page, 60.9-billion-dollar spending call for doubling the state’s tax on sports betting to 40% and using the proceeds to fund future pro sports stadium projects. DeWine has estimated this tax would raise 130 million dollars to 180 million dollars a year.
06.02.2025 – LA Angels exercise three-year stadium lease extension
The Los Angeles Angels will continue playing at Angel Stadium until at least 2032 after exercising a three-year extension to its lease deal with the City of Anaheim. The stadium is owned by the city, which was informed of the team’s decision yesterday (Wednesday). The Angels have played at Angel Stadium since 1966 and the current lease deal was signed in 1996.
03.02.2025 – Modon Holding acquires Arena Events Group
Modon Holding P.S.C (“Modon”), an Abu Dhabi-based holding company, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with IHC and TasHeel Holding for the acquisition of Theta Bidco Limited, the 100% owner of Arena Events Group Limited (“Arena”), a global leader in large scale temporary infrastructure and integrated event solutions.
The acquisition of Arena further strengthens Modon’s profile in the global events industry and significantly broadens its existing capabilities in this sector and its presence in over 10 countries that Arena operates in, notably US, UK and KSA. Arena has been an integral component of a number of high profile and diverse sporting events, including services and infrastructure support provided to the 2024 Paris Olympics Games, Formula1 races in Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Vegas, Miami and Austin, Wimbledon and the annual Cinch Championships at Queen’s Club in London as well as setting up a modular cricket stadium for the T20 World Cup in New York.

29.01.2025 – AGF reveals Europe’s Greener Arenas
Arenas from across the UK and Europe have demonstrated their commitment to sustainability and successfully certified events in 2024. These include ABBA Voyage London and The O2 Arena in London, Glasgows’ OVO Hydro, Uber Arena in Berlin and Forest Green Rovers Football Club.
AGF (A Greener Future) is helping the global live sector become greener. AGF Certification is a comprehensive standard for sustainability in the live events sector, for festivals, events and arenas, reducing waste, emissions, and enhancing equality and biodiversity.
22.01.2025 – Vinci, Bouygues take legal action
Vinci and Bouygues, current operators of the Stade de France, have taken the state to court over what they claim are irregularities in the tender process for a new contract. The Vinci-Bouygues consortium has taken issue with the process conducted by Fin Infra, the entity which supports state investment projects. A request for interim relief has been filed with the Tribunal administratif de Montreuil, according to Les Echos, which is due to examine it at the end of the month before a ruling expected in February.
21.01.2025 – Arena Group Announces Acquisition of Maestra
Arena Group announces its acquisition of Maestra, a leading build specialist for premium events, exhibitions, and environments with operations in the UAE and KSA. This acquisition strengthens Arena’s presence in the Middle East, positioning the company to offer a broader range of turnkey solutions to its clients across a diverse array of projects.
Tom Clements, Founder and CEO of Maestra, will continue to lead the company, ensuring continuity for Maestra’s clients and staff while benefiting from Arena Group’s global infrastructure and resources. Maestra will also continue to manage Arena’s Showblock operations in the region.
06.01.2025 – New chapter for Sheffield City Hall and the Utilita Arena
ASM Global have taken over operation of Sheffield City Hall and Utilita Arena Sheffield, who will join ASM Global’s network of more than 350 venues, which collectively host 20,000 events and welcome 164 million guests every year. The new operators will oversee a new chapter for the Sheffield venues with investment powering a series of improvement works, funded by Sheffield City Council and ASM Global.
Taking place across all areas of Utilita Arena, the vision is to reimagine the venue as a world-class touring destination, while developing the venue experience at Sheffield City Hall in line with its prestigious heritage identity.

13.12.2024 – Udinese Calcio plans first smoke free facility in Italy
Marevivo Foundation and Udinese Calcio launch the One Mission, One Planet campaign to cut down on CO₂ emissions and litter outside stadiums. The initiative is being carried out with BAT Italy and Udinese Calcio, aided by start-up company JustOnEarth and with the support of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. A fan awareness campaign will be run at Udinese's home games this season and during the 2025/26 season, followed by air quality monitoring. One of the goals is to initiate a process that leads to Bluenergy Stadium becoming the first smoke-free facility in Italy.
10.12.2024 – Feyenoord and Stadium aim to become one
Feyenoord and Stadion Feijenoord want to become one in the near future and have signed a so-called Letter of Intent to this end. Club and stadium announced the intention last night during Stadion Feijenoord's Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Unification is now a necessity as well as a long-cherished wish, the shareholders were explained. After all, Stadion Feijenoord sees no chance of keeping De Kuip at the required level in the coming years from its own resources.

10.12.2024 – GL Events in exclusive talks over Stade de France contract
The French government has entered into exclusive negotiations with GL Events for the operation of the Stade de France. GL Events currently manages several venues in Paris and across France, and has been selected ahead of a proposal from construction firms Vinci and Bouygues.
Vinci and Bouygues have managed the Stade de France since 1995 through an agreement with the French government, which owns the stadium. The contract is set to end on 1st July 2025, and in March 2023 the government initiated a process for a new contract.

26.11.2024 – Barça to close its singing section
FC Barcelona and its own fans are in a dispute that will now see the club closing the singing section of the Montjuïc stadium for the foreseeable future. Barça want the various supporters groups that comprise the singing section behind one of the goals to cover fines given to the club amounting to 21,000 euros for various incidents last season.
22.11.2024 – Tycoon takes full control of new Valencia arena
Spanish tycoon Juan Roig has taken full control of Valencia’s under-construction Roig Arena. Licampa 1617, a holding company owned by Roig, has acquired 100% of shares for the venue after purchasing Arena Alive SL’s remaining stake in facility operator Valencia 5 Estrellas. The 18,600-capacity Roig Arena, due to open next year, is named after the president of supermarket chain Mercadona, who has already invested 280 million euros.
21.11.2024 – Live Nations expands into Portugal
Live Nation, a leading entertainment company, has announced that it will acquire a majority stake in Lisbon’s MEO Arena.nWith a capacity of 20,000, MEO Arena is Portugal’s premier indoor venue and one of Europe’s largest. Since opening in 1998 for the ‘Expo 98’ World Trade Fair, it has hosted global stars like Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Adele, André Rieu, and Travis Scott.
Renovations are planned to upgrade premium seating, skyboxes, dressing rooms and concessions, improving the overall fan experience and making the arena more attractive to visiting artists. Live Nation will also build on MEO Arena’s sustainability efforts, focusing on reducing its environmental impact and increasing social benefits in line with its Green Nation pledges.
17.11.2024 – OKC overfunded Paycom Center operator
Oklahoma City has overfunded the company managing the downtown Paycom Center by millions of subsidy dollars in recent years, according to a report released by the city auditor. Funding provided by the city to ASM Global exceeded operational needs at Paycom Center and the former Cox Convention Center by 2.1 million dollars for the 2023 fiscal year and by at least 11.8 million dollars in total since the 2018 fiscal year, according to the audit.

13.11.2024 – Finnish investors to buy Helsinki Arena
A group of Finnish investors have agreed to buy Finland's flagship sports and events venue from its sanctions-hit Russian owners after the city of Helsinki threatened a forced takeover. The Helsinki Arena, a major concert venue and previously the prime stage for Finland's favourite sport ice hockey, has stood idle for two years since sanctions were imposed on Russian investors following Moscow's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
11.11.2024 – New Operators for Estadio Luna Park
Live Nation and their Argentinian partner, DF Entertainment, have successfully secured a deal to manage Estadio Luna Park a multi-purpose arena in Buenos Aires. According to the Argentinian newspaper La Politica, the deal will see Live Nation and DF Entertainment manage the venue for the 20 years with a potential to expand the agreement for another two decades.
As part of the deal, Live Nation and DF Entertainment will invest 34 million dollars into the arena, starting in January 2025 and will help to expand the arena’s capacity to 13,000.
