Additional Safe Standing Areas at Wembley Stadium
Following a successful trial, additional licensed standing areas have been installed at Wembley Stadium ahead of the 2026 season. Fans will be able to use the new seats for the first time at the Carabao Cup final.
Since 2022, safe standing has been permitted in English stadiums. Since then, numerous professional clubs have secured SGSA (Sports Grounds Safety Authority) licences to install rail seats in their venues. In February 2026, Arsenal FC announced that it would also be introducing safe standing areas at the Emirates Stadium for the 2026/27 season. In March 2026, Wembley Stadium announced an expansion of its safe standing offering.
