Often stereotyped as reserved and composed, the Finnish character may seem to align with the understated design of the nation’s most important stadium. Unlike the grandeur of Berlin’s or Rome’s Olympic stadiums, Helsinki’s architectural masterpiece of functionalism does not exude immediate charm.
