Allianz Stadium: Black and White Jewel
The Allianz Stadium in Turin is one of Europe's most successful venues. With a capacity of around 41,500 spectators, the arena offers unique features and a top-notch fan experience. Yet, the management team does not rest on their laurels.
Over 30 years ago, Italy's stadium infrastructure reached its peak during the 1990 FIFA World Cup. Several stadiums were newly built or extensively renovated at that time. However, in the following years, there was little investment in these venues. Since the opening of the Juventus Stadium in Turin on September 8, 2011, this modern arena has dominated the Italian stadium landscape. The new venue replaced the old Stadio delle Alpi, Juventus' home since 1990, offering a smaller yet much more refined atmosphere. "Our stadium was the first club-owned venue in Italy," explains Dr. Francesco Gianello, Head of Facility Management, covering Facility, Safety, and Security Management. "While some clubs have since followed suit, much of Italy's sports infrastructure is still outdated. Around 60% were built before the 1980s," says Gianello.
