“Our Design Lends Itself Perfectly for Events of This Scale”
From 2026 to 2028 the NBA will host six regular season games in arenas in Europe. The four involved venues boast a mix of newcomers, established partners and returning venues. Looking towards the ongoing discussions around a potential NBA Europe league, this might very well be a dress rehearsal for potential involvement is such a venture. stadiaworld asked the four venues what they expect from the games and how they see their role. stadiaworld: Co-op Live will host an NBA regular season game for the first time in 2027. What makes your venue so attractive to the league? How did you convince the NBA to choose your arena?
Musham: We’re a purpose built and state of the art venue, therefore we’re incredibly excited over the opportunity to showcase Co-op Live to the NBA, the world of basketball, and its fans come 2027. Now entering our second full calendar year of operation, we have regularly demonstrated our innovative, flexible design, hosting a range of events that have propelled Co-op Live towards the top of both UK and European rankings. Manchester itself also boasts a notable connection to the sport with the National Basketball Performance Centre a short distance from Co-op Live’s location on the Etihad Campus, itself a globally recognised sporting landmark.
