The 2026 edition brings together over 200 international participants, including representatives from more than 50 stadiums and arenas worldwide, as well as renowned speakers, venue operators, clubs, architects, engineering firms, public institutions, technology companies, and prominent sector suppliers.

The opening day began with an institutional reception at the Hotel Meliá Gran Meliá Barcelona, welcoming speakers, partners, and international delegations. During this first gathering, Josep Maria Monti, CEO of the congress, delivered the opening remarks that officially marked the start of the second edition, highlighting the strategic role of major sports venues as drivers of urban, social, and economic transformation.
The day continued with the Welcome Reception & Cocktail at Roca Gallery Barcelona, an international reference point for architecture and design. The event featured an address by Patrick Torrent, Executive Director at the Catalan Tourist Board of the Generalitat de Catalunya, who emphasized that “for Barcelona, Sports World Congress represents a unique opportunity to host a world-class global event and position the city as a global capital of sport,” also highlighting the importance of the congress being linked to ISE (Integrated Systems Europe), further strengthening the city’s position as an international hub for technology, innovation, and major global events.
