Commercial Activities Drive Record Revenues in Europe
UEFA’s “European Club Finance and Investment Landscape” report shows that European top-division football clubs have once again achieved record revenues. The main driver of this growth is revenue from various commercial activities.
The 2024 financial year was yet another record-breaking year for European top-division football clubs in financial terms: taken together, the clubs generated record revenue of 28.6 billion euros (approx. 33.3bn USD / 24.9bn GBP). By way of comparison, the previous record set in 2023 stood at 26.8 billion euros. In 2021, top-division clubs in Europe generated revenue of 21.2 billion euros – meaning this figure has risen by 35 % within three years.
