Sampson: SoFi Stadium – an open-air venue – is the NFL’s first indoor-outdoor stadium and, at around 280,000 square meters, the league’s largest stadium. It has a capacity of about 70,000 seats and can be expanded to up to 100,000. The stadium features 260 luxury suites and more than 13,000 premium seats. The event level of the stadium is about 30 meters below ground level. To achieve this, over seven million cubic meters of earth were excavated and redistributed across the site for the stadium bowl alone. Almost 100,000 tons of steel and cables were installed, and 144,000 cubic meters of concrete were used to construct SoFi Stadium. Additionally, SoFi Stadium’s video board, the Infinity Screen by Samsung, is the largest and only 360° 4K video board in sports. The stadium is fully digital and therefore the perfect home for two NFL teams, the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers.
