"Making the stadium one of the most sustainable in Europe"
In an interview with stadiaworld, Alberto Rigotto, Finance Director at Udinese Calcio, and Alberta Gervasio, CEO of Bluenergy, discuss their expanded partnership, including the naming rights for the stadium and other joint projects.
stadiaworld: The Dacia Arena is now called the Bluenergy Stadium. Why was the naming right reassigned?
Rigotto: We had a long and fruitful partnership with Dacia, but after 13 years, we decided to part ways due to differing strategic plans. Udinese has always been an innovative club. For example, our stadium was the second club-owned facility in Italy and the first to introduce naming rights in Italian football—a practice that many Serie A clubs have since adopted.
We wanted to strengthen our stadium project with Bluenergy, another long-standing partner. Bluenergy, a successful company originally from Friuli, has expanded nationwide. This partnership is a strategic step for both the club's future and the broader football world.
