Everton Stadium receives new founding partner
Around a year before the opening of the new Everton Stadium, the club can announce a new partnership. The agreement signed with a catering service provider aims to create a revolutionary fan experience.
Everton FC's new stadium continues to take shape. The club's new home ground has been under construction at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool since 2021. After the construction was deemed "structurally complete" at the end of February, a new founding partner has now been found for the Everton Stadium. The partnership with a food service provider should have a particularly positive impact on the food on offer and the associated visitor experience. The common goal of the two partners is to make the new home ground a flagship for the club in Europe.
Specifically, the new founding partner is the catering provider Aramark UK. The globally operating company – which is also based in Germany – can draw on extensive experience in the field of stadium catering. For example, the company's customer and partner base includes the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, the Mile High Stadium in Denver and the Cívitas Metropolitano, the home ground of Atlético Madrid.
According to Everton FC, the aim of the agreement is for Aramark to develop the stadium into one of the most revolutionary and modern venues in Europe, both in terms of catering and the fan experience. In addition to the use of "state-of-the-art technologies", the quality of the food and drinks and the speed of service will also be prioritised. One focus is on the digitalisation of the stadium, which will be implemented with the help of modern technologies such as "walk-in walk-out" solutions, which will be implemented in addition to modern kiosks throughout the stadium. The concept also includes self-tap beer systems, a comprehensive range of food and drinks and food pick-up points that are only available for online orders.
According to the new partners, the aim of the partnership is also to promote a sense of community for the people in the region. Not only will regional products be used, but the needs of Everton fans will also be taken into account when creating the catering offer. In addition, around 1,200 new jobs are to be created as a result of this commitment. In partnership with the charity organisation Everton in the Community, the club and food service provider also want to promote career opportunities at the stadium and support local food and drink suppliers in implementing their concepts.
Richard Kenyon, Everton's Chief Commercial and Communications Officer, is confident about the partnership: "Aramark knows what it takes and what it takes to create high-calibre, multi-functional venues. We look forward to the club's bright future in our new home and are focussed on working together to deliver the right experience for every fan and visitor, both in the stadium and on the plaza."
For the catering provider, the status as a founding partner of Everton Stadium is primarily associated with improved commercial opportunities and media rights at the new venue at Bramley-Moore Dock. Helen Milligan-Smith, CEO and President of Aramark UK, is also looking forward to the new commitment: "We are delighted to be a Founding Partner and to have been selected as the culinary experience partner for Everton. Our shared commitment to delivering exceptional experiences means we are developing something truly extraordinary for the opening of the new stadium."
The new stadium is scheduled to open in the summer of 2025. (stadiaworld, 09.08.2024)
