With the conclusion of the Paris Summer Olympics, attention shifts to Los Angeles 2028 – Germany also aims to host the world’s largest sporting event again 12 years later. Stadiaworld takes a look at the sports venue landscape of the potential host cities. Part 1: Berlin
It has been known for years that Germany intends to bid for the Olympic Games again. Since the German Olympic Sports Confederation’s (DOSB) general assembly in December 2022, the participation in the Olympic bidding process has been officially under review. In various dialogue rounds, where the DOSB presented the basic idea to the public in different locations, two central points were emphasized: sustainability and economic efficiency. The Olympic Games in Germany are to be decentralized, meaning they will not be held solely in one city, which would also allow for another goal: avoiding the need for new constructions for the Games.
