NAA publishes "Green Guide"
The NAA, in collaboration with "A Greener Future," has presented a "Green Guide" aimed at supporting arenas on the British Isles in implementing sustainable events.
The National Arenas Association (NAA) is an association of the 23 largest arenas in the UK and Ireland, serving as a network forum since 1991, particularly to establish best practices within its membership. Together with the live event sustainability experts "A Greener Future" (AGF), the NAA has published a Green Guide.

The NAA Green Guide addresses the comprehensive environmental aspects of arena management, considering areas such as governance, social inclusion, and economic opportunities. The guide is designed to help arenas set sustainability goals and work towards reducing their environmental impact, regardless of where they currently stand on their individual "sustainability journey." Additionally, arenas benefit from several sustainability guidelines templates that can be adapted to their specific needs and infrastructures.
Supported by the industry association LIVE and the Concert Promoters Association, the Green Guide will be reviewed annually as part of the NAA working group and is expected to evolve as the live event industry faces the challenges and opportunities of social and environmental sustainability.
Claire Cosgrave, Head of the NAA Green Guide, commented on the publication: "The National Arenas Association's Green Guide is an accessible, action-oriented resource that helps our members navigate the complex world of social and environmental sustainability. By focusing on shared goals, we are confident that the guide can help achieve progress in areas that are important to all arenas, regardless of size, age, or current stage of the sustainability journey. In collaboration with experts from A Greener Future, the guide covers a wide range of details, with practical steps that operators can implement and key stakeholders, such as promoters and event audiences, can be involved in. As a group, the NAA is committed to promoting best practices across all member arenas, and we look forward to continuing to develop the Green Guide in the years to come."Claire O'Neill, CEO and co-founder of A Greener Future, added: "It is critical for arenas to take action now to prevent negative environmental impacts, create safe and fulfilling spaces for people, and manage the risks and opportunities associated with climate change and market development. Arenas are the home of live entertainment. This collaboration is a significant step in bringing the live entertainment sector in line with actionable steps towards more sustainable arenas."
