European football sees rising attendance figures

European football is thriving, with a record 221 million fans attending games in 2023/24. UEFA’s report shows surging interest across all levels, from elite leagues to women’s matches, underscoring the strong post-pandemic demand for live sports.

The early 2020s posed challenges for European football. The 2024 Paris Olympics drew more than 9.5 million spectators to the venues, while Germany-hosted UEFA EURO 2024 recorded 2.68 million stadium visitors, underlining the enduring enthusiasm for live sports events. The annual UEFA report, European Club Talent and Competition Landscape, reaches the same conclusion, examining current trends in European football.
