With the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, attention is shifting to Los Angeles 2028. Twelve years later, Germany plans to once again host the world's largest sporting event. stadiaworld takes a look at the potential sports venues for the bidding cities. Part 3: Munich.
It has been known for years that Germany wants to bid for the Olympic Games again. Since the DOSB members' meeting in December 2022, the official process of considering participation in the Olympic bidding has been underway. At the German House in Paris, the next steps were taken, such as the signing of the Joint Declaration by the federal government, which aims to collectively push forward the bidding process. With this signing, the federal government has also committed to contributing nearly 7 mio. EUR (7.77 mio. USD / 6.09 mio. GBP) to the bidding costs. In addition to the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the DOSB, the cities of Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Munich, as well as the federal states of Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia, have signed the "Memorandum of Understanding."
