“The Santiago Bernabéu project is by far the best”

Tristán López-Chicheri, CEO-Senior Partner L35 Arquitectos, speaks about their current and recent sports venue projects and gives insights on the gigantic redevelopment of the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid.

stadiaworld: On which sports venue projects has L35 recently worked on?

López-Chicheri: The main one is the remodel of the Santiago Bernabeu that has been going on since 2012 when the international competition started. In 2014 we were awarded the project and we have been working on it since then.Construction works will be starting this summer. Besides this one we have a staium in Dubai and another one in Bogotá which we are starting right now. In Spain we were awarded the Mendizorroza Stadium a couple of years ago, home of Deportivo Alaves, a football team from Vitoria. And we are starting the remodel this summer with some structural preliminary works.
