Petco Park: Hospitality upgrades with rooftop bar
The MLB franchise San Diego Padres has announced the renovation of the hospitality areas in the “Western Metal Supply Buidling”. The old factory building is now an iconic part of Petco Park and features a rooftop grandstand, among other things.
The brick building is a historic structure from the early 20th century, which has been preserved and integrated into the stadium. Spectators can watch the game from the stands. Now the building at Petco Park is undergoing a complete remodeling. This includes the Padres New Era Team Store, the Budweiser Loft on the fifth floor and the roof. This project is “part of the Padres' long-standing and ongoing commitment to maintain and improve Petco Park.” Construction on the Western Metal Building has already begun and will be completed in time for the Padres 2025 home opener on Thursday, March 27 against the Atlanta Braves.

The new Budweiser Loft is located on the fifth floor and offers an upscale social space designed to emphasize the historic character of the building. Upgrades include a renovated bar, new targeted lighting to enhance the guest experience, new furniture and games, and a remodeled Foul Pole Suite. The upgraded Foul Pole Suite, located in the Western Metal Building on the left foul pole, offers more space for groups of 20 or more, a new premium catering layout, new finishes and furniture, and access to renovated semi-private restrooms. The Budweiser Loft will continue to be accessible to ticketed fans and will serve as a happy hour for members on game days unless booked for a private group.
The biggest change in the Western Metal Building is a new grand staircase that connects the Budweiser Loft directly to the completely renovated Western Metal Rooftop for the first time. The redesigned 4,000-square-foot rooftop terrace will offer an entirely new view of the field and increased capacity for more guests. The rooftop terrace will also include new private restrooms for this area, a new covered trellis to provide shade, overhead heating, new and larger premium lounge seating and two new 16-by-9-foot video boards so guests in this space won't miss any of the action on the field. Another new feature of the upgraded Western Metal Rooftop will be a new wall on the side facing the field that will be illuminated for celebratory moments, including the night sky. Priority for private events and game day experiences at the Rooftop will be given to groups of 300 guests or more, and with a direct connection to the Budweiser Loft, groups of more than 1,000 can now be accommodated comfortably.
The iconic brick facade of the Western Metal Supply Co. building remains untouched, while the suites on the third and fourth floors of the building were recently renovated when the Padres remodeled all 70 suites at Petco Park in 2022. Fans who want access to the new entertainment and foul pole suites or the remodeled rooftop will need to make a deposit for the 2025 regular season.
The renovation of the building will expand the options for special events in the Budweiser Loft and Western Metal Rooftop, whether by booking an event in one space or a combination of both. The connected space will allow larger groups of up to 1,500 people to experience Petco Park with two new venues that flow into one another and feature state-of-the-art facilities and high-quality finishes.
