The 2025 MLB season is about to begin
Major League Baseball (MLB) is starting its 124th season. Stadionwelt looks ahead to the international games, construction plans for new ball parks, facts about the current stadiums and the attendance figures for the past season.
On 18th and 19th March 2025, the MLB will host its season opener in Japan for the sixth time in its history. As part of the Tokyo Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs will play two games in the Tokyo Dome. The World Series winners, the Dodgers, will begin their title defence in the home of reigning MVP Shohei Ohtani and pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Both play for the eight-time winner of the North American Baseball Championship in Los Angeles. The Cubs have already played two exhibition matches in Tokyo against the Hanshin Tigers and the Yomiuri Giants.
