AFC Sunderland rents out stadium for private football matches
In the summer of 2025, AFC Sunderland’s Stadium of Light can be booked for a “personal match.” Prices start at approximately 2,000 GBP per team, including access to stadium facilities and branding opportunities.
AFC Sunderland is offering a unique opportunity for football enthusiasts in the summer of 2025. Between 22nd May and 4th June, the club is making the Stadium of Light available for private or corporate events. Normally the home ground for AFC Sunderland’s Championship matches, the pitch can be rented for an exclusive football experience.
Prices for the “Play on the Pitch 2025” event vary depending on the chosen date.
Weekdays (Time slots at 8:30 AM, 12:00 PM, 3:30 PM):
- Per team (up to 18 players): approx. 1,950 GBP (2,250 EUR / 2,170 USD)
- Per match: approx. 3,900 GBP (4,500 EUR / 4,340 USD)
Evening matches on weekdays (7:00 PM) & games on weekends/public holidays:
- Per team: approx. 2,500 GBP (2,880 EUR / 2,780 USD)
- Per match: approx. 5,000 GBP (5,760 EUR / 5,560 USD)
Participation starts at around 108,33 GBP (125 EUR /120 USD) per person. In addition to full use of the pitch and stadium facilities—including locker rooms, the player tunnel, and team benches—companies can also take advantage of digital signage systems for branding purposes. The match experience includes a referee, a coin toss, and a walkout ceremony. The pitch is available for a two-hour session. To conclude the event, a "Man of the Match" award is presented in Quinn’s Sports Bar (the stadium’s hospitality area), including a burger and a drink. (stadiaworld, 20.03.2025)
