Brisbane in Full Swing Preparing for 2032 Olympics
Brisbane is in the midst of preparations for the 2032 Olympic Games. Following the “100-day review”, the government presented its venue plans for the major event at the end of March. Stadionwelt presents the recommendations.
On 29th November, 2024, the Queensland government commissioned the “Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority“ (GIICA) to conduct a comprehensive 100-day review of the critical infrastructure required for the Games. The purpose was to “confirm that infrastructure projects are strategically selected based on needs and ensure they are located in the right places to meet the needs of the Games and support long-term benefits for Queensland,“ and to do so “within the agreed funding framework of 7.1bn Australian dollars (approx. 3.99bn EUR / 3.42bn GBP / 4.55bn USD) from the state and federal governments.“
