Prospera Place Elevates Atmosphere

When fans and audiences head to Prospera Place for live events, they will be greeted by new technology from Daktronics. A new three-display centerhung system – one of the largest in the CHL – paired with a custom Daktronics control system and digital content from Daktronics Creative Services, brings events to life at the venue in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, in 2025.

“The City of Kelowna has made several strategic investments to enhance Prospera Place, including the installation of a new, state-of-the-art centerhung scoreboard,” said Johannes Säufferer, Director of Real Estate. “These upgrades strengthen Kelowna’s ability to host major events, support tourism, generate employment and foster a vibrant and welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.”

Centerhung System Details

The centerhung features one large continuous display wrapping around all four sides of the square-shaped configuration. This display measures more than 12 feet high by nearly 98 feet wide. An upper right and lower ring supplement the main video display. The upper ring measures 5 feet high by 120.5 feet around and the lower ring measures 3.5 feet high by nearly 98 feet around. All three displays feature 5.9-millimeter pixel spacing and combine for more than 2,100 square feet of digital display space.

“This is an exciting project that’s going to have a major impact on live events held inside the venue,” said Brady Jacobsen, Daktronics regional manager. “The new centerhung allows Prospera Place to engage fans and audiences in new ways while bringing a great view to every seat. We’re looking forward to seeing the venue packed with fans enjoying every moment.”

The main display is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show all the live video, instant replays, graphics and animations, statistics and game information, and sponsorship messages that fans have come to expect at live events. It can show one large image or be divided into multiple zones to show the desired mix of digital content for fans to enjoy.

The rings provide supplemental information and graphics to the main displays for a well-rounded overall experience. Daktronics is also including a complete Show Control solution. This industry-leading control system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a powerful yet user-friendly production solution. Included with equipment installations, Prospera Place will receive a content package to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services, an in-house, award-winning creative group. (stadiaworld, 25.09.2025)
