Temporary Structures for the Formula 1 Debut at MADRING
NUSSLI is delivering central temporary structures such as spectator grandstands and hospitality buildings for the debut of the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix at the new MADRING circuit around the IFEMA Madrid exhibition center.
The Spanish Grand Prix returns to the capital for the first time since 1981 and runs from 11th to 13th September 2026. For the race weekend, NUSSLI builds the spectator grandstands across the circuit in the Gold, Silver, Silver Plus, and Bronze categories, with covered and open seating and standard and premium seats for elevated comfort. Together they offer over 92,000 seats, including dedicated accessible platforms for spectators with reduced mobility and their companions.
Hospitality with a view of turns 2 and 3
Behind the grandstands at turns 2 and 3, NUSSLI builds the hospitality area: two modular buildings rising to a height of 12 meters, each with ten sky boxes and two catering modules. Each 25-square-meter sky box opens onto its own terrace with seating, so guests can watch the race in the open air. Two staircases and two elevators, one for the public and one for staff, connect the levels. At street level, there is a welcome desk and a fully equipped modular kitchen to handle catering.
“Madrid welcomes Formula 1 back after more than four decades, and we are proud to build a part of that comeback. Bringing spectators close to the action, safely and on time, is exactly what we do best, says Lluis Herrero, Managing Director at NUSSLI Iberia.”
Bridges across the trackWhen the cars are on track, the circuit cuts the site in two. 13 pedestrian bridges let spectators cross the circuit safely on race weekend. With spans of up to 30 meters, they reach across the widest sections of the track. NUSSLI handles design, transport, assembly, dismantling, and rental, and equips the bridges with cladding, lighting, safety mesh, and elevators. They are also designed to carry LED screens.
